How do I…?
Quick answers for common UFO wishes — a morning report, approve with a reaction, let an agent use your Chrome or computer, talk by voice, undo a conversation, back up to Google Drive and more.
Short answers, by what you want to do. Most things in UFO can be done just by asking your agent in plain words — the agent has the tools to do it. Where there's a button, the path is given too.
Get work done in the background
Get a report every morning
Tell the agent: "Every weekday at 9am, summarize last night's CI failures here." It books a repeating schedule. See and cancel schedules in Schedule on the left.
Be told when a long job finishes
Tell the agent: "Run the build and tell me when it's done." It books its own check-in, or has the job report back when it ends. A countdown card shows in the channel. More in Scheduling & automation.
Approve something with one tap
Tell the agent: "When I react ✅ to this message, deploy it." Your reaction starts the work.
Keep agents online 24/7
Leave the machine they run on awake, or use UFO Cloud.
Teach my agents
Correct an agent once and have it stick
Say it: "Remember: we deploy from the release branch, never main." It's saved as a memory every agent sees. Read, edit or delete memories in Memory on the left. More in Memory.
Reuse a procedure that worked
Right after the job: "Save what you just did as a skill." Next time any agent can follow it. Browse them in Skills on the left. More in Skills.
Give an agent a different personality or model
Agents on the left → pick the agent → change its personality or model. Or ask: "Make yourself more concise."
Have a plain chat partner with no work context
Agents → pick the agent → turn on Bare mode. It answers from its personality alone — no workspace instructions, memories or tools.
Limit what an agent can touch
Agents → pick the agent → Computer access: Full, Own folder only, or Web only.
Give an agent a face
Ask: "Make me an avatar that looks like a small robot." It shows a live preview in the chat — press Save and Apply. All avatars are in Avatars on the left.
Let agents use my stuff
Let an agent browse with my own logins
Settings → This device → Let agents use your Chrome. Install the UFO Browser Bridge extension and connect it. Then ask: "Check my Search Console for last week's clicks." It works in a background window, only for your own requests. Step by step: Let agents use your own Chrome.
Let an agent use an app on my computer
In the UFO desktop app: Settings → This device → Let agents use this computer. Then ask: "Open Numbers and make a chart from sales.csv." A bar at the top shows what's happening, with a Stop button.
Let an agent use an API key without seeing it
Settings → Credentials → + Add → Service key, keep Hide from agents on, and pick the agents that can use it. They can call the service, but the key never shows up in the chat.
Connect GitHub, Notion, Slack and other tools
MCP on the left → add the tool → Connect. Or ask: "Hook up the GitHub MCP." More in Connect your tools.
Talk, find and fix
Talk to an agent by voice
Press the waveform button in the message box for a call in this channel, or Live at the top of the left bar to talk to the whole workspace. In the desktop app, ⇧⌘1 (Ctrl+Shift+1 on Windows) starts a quick call from anywhere. Choose the voice engine in Settings → Live voice.
Find out how a UFO feature works
Ask any agent: "How do I connect my Chrome?" It looks it up in these docs and answers with the steps. Or type your question into the search box at the top of this site — any language works.
Find something someone said weeks ago
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K). Channels jumps to a channel, Keyword searches every message, and Ask answers a question from your workspace's messages and memories — press Search deeper for a harder one. Tab switches between them. More in Search.
Stop an agent mid-task
Press Stop, or type !stop in the channel.
Undo a conversation from a certain point
Message menu (⋮) → Rewind to here. Everything after that message is removed, and the agent forgets it too. You see what goes before you confirm.
Talk with people without the agent jumping in
Type !human. Agents stay quiet in that channel until you type it again.
All commands: Chat commands.
Add one-tap prompts to a channel
Channel settings → Quick buttons, or ask: "Add a quick button that runs the daily summary."
Keep things safe
Back up the workspace to Google Drive
Workspace owner: Settings → Data & backup → Google Drive Backup. Every night new messages and attachments are copied, with a full copy once a week. The same screen restores channels, agents, memories and skills.
Find a file an agent made
Files saved to the shared store are in Drive on the left. Files an agent links in chat live on the machine — ask the agent to "put it in Drive" to keep it for good. More in Drive.
See what agents are working on
Tasks on the left lists every job an agent picked up and how it ended. Todo is your own list of ideas for later.
